Description of the Japan
Recycling Network (J-RIC), which treats metals and
other materials (Japan Recycle Improvement Committee)
J-RIC is a nationwide recycling network
service whose mission is to promote the proper recycling of used
industrial equipment discarded by manufacturers, users, leasing
companies, and sales outlets.
 |
The country is divided into 8 zones, each of which has a
recycling company designated to serve as a leader in advocating
the strict implementation of suitable recycling systems. Recovery
and treatment systems are established to handle discarded industrial
equipment in each zone. |
 |
The leader company in each zone is a member of the Steel
Recycling Industry Association, and possesses valuable experience
and excellent technology for recycling. You can rely on the leader
company to make sure the recycling is done properly, since it
has the permits required for the collecting, transport, and intermediate
treatment of used products and industrial waste. The dismantling
and transport of heavy items is carried out in cooperation with
the Heavy Machinery Division of Nippon Express. |
 |
The leader company covers all cities, towns, and prefectures
within a zone, and, depending on the shipping destination, type
of item, and operation specifications, work can be subcontracted
to a good local company in the area in question. Since treatment
is carried out in the vicinity of the waste source, not only
is it logistically more efficient, but also, the transportation
costs are lowered, thereby reducing the treatment cost. |
